A Class 2 student was murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras allegedly as part of a black magic ritual to bring prosperity and fame to the school. Three people strangled the boy on September 22 in his hostel room. The school’s owner, whose father was reportedly involved in occult practices, is suspected to have planned the ‘human sacrifice’.
According to the police, the accused had planned the human sacrifice ritual for September 6 with another boy. However, the plan was foiled when the boy raised an alarm and ran away. A medical examination of the boy later confirmed signs of strangling.
On September 22, the accused attempted the ritual again, intending to sacrifice the victim near a tube well behind the school. When the boy woke up while being taken there, the suspects panicked and strangled him inside the school.
Further investigation led to the discovery of ritualistic items near the tube well, further supporting claims of occult activities. Police believe the motive behind the crime was rooted in superstition.
The alleged motive behind the murder was to ensure the prosperity of the school, which had been under financial strain. The accused believed that offering a human sacrifice would lead to the school’s success.
Explaining the whole incident, the boy’s father said, “I received a call from my son’s school saying, “Your child’s condition is very serious. Please come immediately.” While I was on my way, they called again and said, “The child’s condition has worsened, and we are taking him to Sadabad.” We followed them towards Agra, but they didn’t stop the car. When we returned, we caught up with them in Sadabad, where we found the child’s body in their car.”
Hathras Superintendent of Police, Nipun Aggarwal, confirmed the arrest of five individuals in connection with the crime. “We have arrested five people,” Aggarwal stated. “The child was strangled with the intent to bring prosperity to the school and secure its future.”
